Bloated? Here's How To Lose that Water Weight Overnight

I've been eating Kosher Dill Pickles like crazy. They don't have many calories, but the salt content was making my tummy bulge and my scale climb. This also happens with too much Chinese food, chips or any salty food. Bloating also can happen from bad case of PMS.

Well, I used my pickle binge to experiment with a water reduction bath.

I put 3/4 cup of Epsom Salt in a bowl and added about 2 ounces of Green Clay (optional) and used the following essential oils.

4 drops -Sweet Orange - Sweet, fresh and fruity, this oil warms the heart. The popular scent of orange oil is

lively, yet calming. Emotionally, this oil is used to increase happiness, spirituality, connectedness, peace and understanding. It is said to be good when healing from emotional crisis, panic, depression or fear. When used in baths and massage oils it can be very cleansing; it may help eliminate toxins from the body and reduce water retention. (You may substitute grapefruit or mandarin oil as they also ease bloating

1 drop -Lemon - Lemon has a light, clean citrus scent which can enliven us. It is often employed to help fight infections during the cold and flu season. It can act as restorative and general tonic. Its scent is recommended to help ease mental blocks, lethargy, and stress. Its scent may enhance memory, clarity, and concentration. In skin care it is used to treat acne, cuts, oily skin, warts and more. It is also recommended to ease water retention. (You may substitute grapefruit or mandarin oil as they also ease bloating)

2 drops Rosemary -  Rosemary is the herb of love and remembrance. The essential oil is recognized as an aphrodisiac. It may also help with memory and concentration as it has been said to strengthen both the brain and the nervous system.

Emotionally it is used to increase confidence, energy, clarity, structure, and awareness. In skin care, it has been used to fade varicose veins. It has also been used to: help relieve fluid retention, aid the immune system in fighting infections, relieve headaches, fight nervous exhaustion, and bring relief to respiratory ailments.

2 drops -Juniper Berry - Also used to eliminate extra water gain, Juniper Berry offers a fresh, nutty, berry

scent. It is also used to calm emotions and is said to help improve confidence, peace and help with many forms of inner  conflict. It can detoxify the body as well as tone & stimulate flesh. It is also known to strengthen the immune system.

3 drops - Carrot Seed: This oil has a warm and earthy scent. It is used to

help reduce extra water in the body as well as to revitalize and tone skin. It is used to help skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis, rashes, slack skin and more.

2 drops -Celery Seed-  Light with a little spice, this oil adds an  interesting undertone to blends. It is used to ease digestive complaints such as indigestion and liver congestion. It can help detoxify and eliminate extra water in the body.

2 drops - Cypress - Another oil used to reduce water retention,

strengthening Cypress oil has a clean, evergreen scent. It is cleansing, comforting, and may be used as an antiseptic. It is used to ease sore throats, asthma, bronchitis, and spasmodic coughing. It is used emotionally to increase confidence, balance, patience and direction.

2 drops Geranium - Dry with a rosy undertone, geranium oil is wonderful for helping to balance female hormones and can aid proper water balance. It has deodorizing properties and can be very relaxing. It is recommended to help treat many emotional issues including anxiety and depression. It can help increase feelings of self-worth. Its astringent action makes it ideal for controlling oily skin and great for helping to heal cuts & wounds.

2 drops - Lavender -  This is the only oil in this list not used for water reduction, however it has so

many other delightful benefits, I figured, why not. Highly floral and mildly herbaceous, lavender is considered the most versatile essential oil. It is said to balance one’s energies: stimulating if tired, and relaxing if stressed. It is excellent for treating scarring, acne, burns, eczema, psoriasis, wounds and more. It is great to use to in soaps, baths, or skin ointments to maintain healthy skin. It is known to help with a variety of problems including: anxiety; depression; feelings of fear, anger, aggression, & irritability, insomnia and headaches.

Note: Fennel Seed Oil is also a great water reduction oil, but it is

not amongst my favorite scents so I left it out of my blend. If you enjoy its licorice-like scent, you may substitute it for any of the above oils. Fennel is used to help keep skin young looking, and for weight control. Fennel often helps balance female hormones and may ease premenstrual symptoms. It can be used in small amounts in baths, soaps, and oils and has been reported to reduce cellulite.

Drop and mix all the essential oils into the Epsom Salt and Clay. If you have a small tub, add 1/2 the bowl to your bath. If you have a nice large tub, add the whole bowl. Soak for about an hour in hot water. Add more hot water if your bath starts to cool down. Bring a jumbo vessel of drinking water with you as you will be sweating a lot in the tub. (even though you won't feel the sweat).

I weighed myself the morning before my bath and I weighed 131. The morning after the bath my weight was 124. That is 6 pounds of pickle weight gone overnight! This in not a solution for permanent weight loss, but it is a wonderful way to reduce the discomfort of water weight. It is also a great trick if you need to fit into that special event outfit or want to look your slimmest for a big date.

Make your bath special by listening to relaxing music, meditating, and/or lighting candles. I often do Reiki or stretching exercises while I bathe. And know that while you are relaxing, your skin is healing, toxins are releasing, your muscles and joints are being soothed and that extra water is flowing from your pores and being encouraged to leave from your bladder as well.

Who says you have to suffer for beauty? Heck no, getting beautiful feels good!
